Capt. Cook’s at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is finally opening!

The Polynesian Village Resort is one of our favorite resorts at Walt Disney World and we especially love going to Capt Cook’s for a bite to eat or for my favorite, Joffrey’s coffee. It’s a tradition for us to stop there on every visit right before we head back home. Since April when Capt Cook’s closed it’s doors and moved to their temporary location under the stairs, we’ve all been wondering, when will the New Cook’s open again? Well, wonder no more..

If you happen to be at the Walt Disney World Resort today, then you should really take a monorail ride over to the Polynesian Resort for the re-opening of the “New” Capt Cook’s.

Our sources have told us that the opening will take place today, Wednesday, August 13th between the hours of 3:00 PM and 4:00 PM and we know you all won’t want to miss it!

Capt Cooks has long been considered one of the best Counter Service locations throughout Walt Disney World. Known for their great menu and selection which includes the ever-popular Tonga Toast and the Aloha Pork Sandwich, don’t be surprised if you see a couple of new items on the menu that might just become your new favorite.

Now the biggest change to Capt Cook’s is the fact that you will not be able to get self serve Dole Whips anymore, but once the New Pineapple Lanai opens it’s doors (not yet announced by Disney) we will then be able to get our favorite cold treat there. I will let you in on a little secret though. At the Pineapple Lanai, you will be able to get new special toppings for your Dole Whips as well as Floats. Yummy! 😉  We can’t wait. As soon as we find out when the opening date is, we will let you all know.

In the meantime, you can still get Dole Whips at the Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom Parks.

~So, will you be adding a visit to Capt Cook’s to your itinerary? I know we will..  😉

Wishing you all a Magical Day! ºoº
