Disney Bloggers Unite for the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

All of us at Center of Magic (formerly Diclajia’s Disney Dreams) are always finding ways to help out and also bring awareness to worthy causes. So when we heard about the Ice Bucket Challenge we totally wanted to take part in it. Together with my husband David who is also a Disney Blogger at Disney Superfans Club (formerly Daddy Digz Disney), we decided to take the challenge that Bob Iger the Chairman and CEO of The Walt Disney Company sent out. Now even though he did not personally nominate us, as a Disney Blogger, we took his challenge and are now challenging other Disney Inspired sites/bloggers to do the same.

In our challenge, we have nominated our partner site owner Chip Confer of ChipandCo, another fellow blogger Scott Parker of Taking the Florida Plunge and the owner of Walt Life, Jen Maddox.  The way the challenge works is the nominees have 24 hrs to respond by either accepting the challenge and making a video of their own or making a donation to ALSA,  or they can do both as “Daddy” and I are doing.

The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge was started by Pete Frates from Beverly, Massachusetts along with his family, they along with thousands of others have helped to make the “Ice Bucket Challenge” go viral on the social sites like Facebook and Twitter.  Frates who is 29 years old has lived with ALS since 2012 and has been working with The ALS Association’s Massachusetts Chapter.  Pete who is a former Division 1 college athlete with Boston College Baseball, tirelessly spreads awareness of Lou Gehrig’s Disease.

(ALS) Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord.

If you would like to make a donation to the ALS Association.
