All over social media, it is being reported that the Disney Skyliner at Walt Disney World had to have an emergency evacuation Saturday night due to a malfunction that occurred at the Riviera Station early Saturday evening.
Guests aboard the Skyliner have reported being stuck for over 3-4 hours until they saw emergency crews arrive to get them out.
Also, guests were advised to retrieve the emergency kits that are aboard each gondola which contains; water, a whistle, a waste bag, a notebook, and we believe glow sticks.
A spokesperson for Disney has reported there were no injuries. So far we have seen shared on social media by some of the guests that were evacuated from the gondolas that Disney is compensating each guest with Gift Cards and Park Hopper Tickets. It is unsure if any other form of compensation has been given.
Reedy Creek and Orange County Emergency Teams were on the scene helping to evacuate the guests with cherry pickers and other emergency vehicles.
