Disney is well known for creating great treats with a fan following, and the Butterfinger Cupcake is no exception! I still remember when a friend told me about this cupcake. I didn’t believe her, that such a thing existed! So when a girlfriend of mine and I were planning a girls trip away, we thought “Hey let’s try this cupcake!” Many years ago a very dear friend inspired a tradition in me of going to Starring Rolls Café for my first breakfast each Disney trip, so that was where we headed!
“I couldn’t wait to sit before I started!”
Starring Rolls Café is located at Disney’s Hollywood Studios; it’s a quaint place with plenty of outdoor seating. We lined up inside drooling over all the tasty looking delights the cases had to offer. We didn’t see it at first, and I will admit I shed a tear. Then, we spotted them! Eagerly we each asked for a Butterfinger cupcake. In hindsight we didn’t need 2, but you know what they say “20/20 or something about being farsighted”.
“I might have tried to fit the whole thing in my mouth. I might have also failed.”
Once we were seated, it was time to dig in. There is a reason these things have a cult like following: THEY ARE FLIPPING AMAZING! A rich chocolate cake base, topped with a mountain of vanilla butter cream frosting. The whole peak of frosting is covered with a thick coating of chopped Butterfingers. In the center of this Everest of a cupcake is a decadent fudge center. The textures marry together perfectly, from the crunchy candy topping, to the fluffy vanilla cream, all the way to the chocolate layers beneath. It was cupcakes for breakfast, and as you can see from the pictures I have no regrets! This is a very filling cupcake so don’t be afraid to share. This one definitely goes into my top 5 Disney Cupcake list.
“I was so stuffed!”
I suggest every Disney Addict give this a taste! What are your favorite Disney Cupcakes? Do you think the Butterfinger Cupcake will make it into your top 5?
