The family and I got to spend the day at the New Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios Thank to Disney and we had an AMAZING time playing in Andy’s backyard. We totally felt like we shrunk down to toy size. We had so much fun in this colorful new land.
Upon walking into Toy Story Land we were greeted by the giant Woody – Toy Story Land sign where we had the opportunity to take a Photo Pass pic with the family.
After that we then took another Photo Pass pic with my favorite Toy Story character Buzz Lightyear where he was totally happy that I was Disney Bounding as him. He loved my Toy Story – Buzz Lightyear bows and my Toy Story LuLaRoe leggings. I had a great time with him and was smiling ear to ear. Hey, even adults geek out over their favorite characters. LOL!
Our fun continued as we walked around the new land taking in all the scenery. Everything is so vibrant, colorful and fun. You really do feel like you are transported into Andy’s backyard and that you are one of Andy’s toys.
Our first stop was Alien Swirling Saucers by request of our nephew, and while waiting in line I will say that it was lacking some shade, and in this hot Florida sun, shade would really be ideal. We had fast passes so luckily we didn’t have to wait that long, but if we had to stand in the stand by line, it could get pretty hot and uncomfortable depending on how long you are waiting to get on the ride. Other than that the line did move pretty quickly and once on the ride I can tell you that I laughed so hard from how much fun we were having. The saucer whips you around and you just don’t expect it to be that intense.
Our next stop is Slinky Dog Dash! I was a little nervous and excited all at once, but so looking forward to it. Right from the entrance I can say Wow! I love how even walking to the ride you feel like you are already part of it from how close the ride is to you and how you can see and feel the excitement from the riders. Slinky Dog bends and twists his coils around curves, hills, bridges and drops where you will have a panoramic view of the land and you can also see Star Wars – Galaxy’s Edge from a distance. Lots of things to look at with all the Disney details you would expect! Surrounded by giant building blocks, game board pieces and more it really does transport you. It makes you feel like a kid again.
The ride itself, very smooth. Roomy seats (bigger than Seven Dwarf Mine Train) and I love the fact that the ride gives you a view of all of Toy Story Land! There is a nice surprise on the ride, not 1 but 2 launches that will leave you wanting more! Overall, I feel it’s a Great Ride! Both kids and adults will love it. We loved it so much that we rode it multiple times. We just couldn’t get enough.
Toy Story Mania is now part of Toy Story Land with a whole new game box entrance queue that looks like the box the game came in and with a recently updated third track it lets even more guests be able to experience the fun of the carnival type, fast paced attraction and it’s good to see Mr Potato Head back cracking jokes as guests stand in line.
For lunch we grabbed a bite to eat at the New Woody’s Lunchbox quick service. The food was delicious. We had the Totchos, Barbecue Brisket Sandwich, Potato Barrels, Macaroni Salad and the Mystic Portal Punch. The Totchos are super filling, can be easily shared by two people and still feel pretty satisfied.
Of course no Disney Day is complete without a little shopping therapy and the merchandise in Toy Story Land does not disappoint. So many cute things to choose from and when it doubles as a snack like the Popcorn Buckets, then you can’t go wrong. And these backpacks are just too cute for Back to School.
Overall Toy Story Land is a great edition to Hollywood Studios. I really didn’t have a specific favorite thing at Hollywood Studios till now. Toy Story Land is officially my new favorite land at Walt Disney World and I will visit often.
Have you visited Toy Story Land yet? Tell us about your experience. If not, are you looking forward to visiting the new land?
