Disney has been on a live action kick, and now it’s time for them to add another princess to the mix. Disney has now announced that their latest live action project will be Mulan.

Disney bought a script from the writing team of Elizabeth Martin and Lauren Hynek that centers on the Chinese legend of Hua Mulan, the female warrior who was the main character in Disney’s 1998 animated film.

Chris Bender and J.C. Spink (We’re the Millers) are producing the new project vie their banner Benderspink with Jake Weiner.
The 1998 film that was directed by Tony Bancroft and Barry Cook, told the story of a young woman that disguises herself as a man so she can take her father’s place in the army and go to war. With the help of her trusty dragon sidekick Mushu, she becomes a skilled warrior and, eventually, one of the country’s greatest heroines.

There is no word yet on any casting, but as soon as I hear any news I will be sure to bring it to you. What is your thought about all these live action movies that Disney is now doing?
