New Disney Movies and Shows Announced at D23

So many announcements happening at D23 this year and movies and shows were no exception.

With the addition of FOX and Marvel, the new shows that are coming to Disney Channel and Disney Junior do not fall short.

Disney Channel will soon have a new smartest character when Marvel’s Moon Girl lands on the network. Executive producer Laurence Fishburne announced the new original animated series Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur Saturday at the Disney Television Animation panel at D23 Expo 2019.

The show is based on the hit Marvel comic books, first published in 2016. Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur follows the adventures of 13-year-old super-genius Lunella Lafayette and her sidekick, Devil Dinosaur, a 10-ton Tyrannosaurus Rex she accidentally transported to modern New York City, where Lunella lives on the Lower East Side. The show doesn’t yet have a debut date, but it’s “coming soon to the Disney Channel.

Also announced, Marvel Animation is creating it’s first full-length animated preschool series that will debut on Disney Junior in 2021. Marvel’s Spidey and his Amazing Friends! Spidey, Miles Morales and Ghost-Spider team up with Hulk and Black Panther to defeat evil foes and learn that teamwork is the best way to save the day.

Walt Disney Studios is also hard at work bringing you lots more fun and entertaining New Movies that will be hitting the theaters as soon as this fall and into the next year.

I am personally excited for Maleficent-Mistress of Evil in theaters October 18th, 2019. Angelina Jolie has embraced the character of Maleficent and has brought her to life a way that only Angelina can. Maleficent and Princess Aurora together must face new allies and enemies in a bid to protect the magical lands which they share.

Elsa and Anna are back in Frozen II. Elsa the Snow Queen and her sister Anna embark on an adventure far away from the kingdom of Arendelle joined by Kristoff, Olaf, and Sven. Frozen II will be in theaters November 22nd, 2019.

New movie Onward is about two teenage elf brothers, Ian and Barley Lightfoot who go on a journey to discover if there is still a little magic left in order to spend one last day with their father, who died when they were too young to remember him. Onward hits theaters March 6th, 2020

Raya and the Last Dragon is the 59th film produced by Walt Disney Studio and is set to be released November 25th, 2020. The movie takes place in a land called Kumandra that is split into five different regions. Warrior Raya searches for the last dragon in the world.

In theaters May 28th, 2021, Emma Stone is embracing her role as the evil Cruella de Vil in Disney’s Live-Action Cruella. The film will also star Emma Thompson, Paul Waiter Hauser, and Joel Fry. The movie follows a young Cruella and will take place in 1970’s London in “punk rock” style.
