In 1963 Founder Dick Portillo started serving up hot dogs in “The Dog House” a small little hot dog stand that didn’t even have running water, but little by little the business grew to a bigger establishment and by 1967 he renamed it Portillo’s.
As the business kept growing he added the first drive-thru service in 1983 and was featured in Forbes Magazine by 1985. Since then they have grown the company and opened many more locations throughout the country and now they are adding their 64th location right here in Lake Buena Vista Florida.
This will be their third location in Florida with the other two being in Tampa Florida and Brandon Florida. Their newest location will be part of the Village at O-Town Development Project on the Intersection of Palm Parkway and Daryl Carter Blvd in Lake Buena Vista, just 5 minutes from the Walt Disney World Resort.
Portillo serves up the best Char-Grilled Burgers, Fresh Salads, their famous Chicago Style Hot Dogs, Italian Beef Sandwiches, Pasta and their World Famous Chocolate Cake.
The new restaurant will offer a double drive-thru, an outdoor patio and will look like a nostalgic classic diner with booths and classic memorabilia decor.
Portillo also offers catering, and they have a shop with merchandise and more that you can have shipped right to your door.
If you would like to sign up for a chance at a free sneak peek meal and for the chance to be served your Chicago-style favorites from the Portillo’s food truck in Orlando prior to the restaurant opening, go to www.portillos.com/lakebuenavista.
